New Student Registration Information
Secondary schools open on Monday, August 22 and elementary schools open on Monday, August 29. Please bring your child’s birth certificate and proof of address when registering.

Important Information for all new registrations
If you do not have Canadian citizenship, please contact the Central Vancouver Island Multicultural Society 250 753.6911

New Student Tours 


A tour will be hosted for any new students to John Barsby Community School on September 1st at 11:30 am. If you wish to participate in this orientation, please call the office (250-753-8211) and ask to be put on the sign-up sheet for the tour.


First Day of School September 6th, 2016 

10:15 a.m. start for Grades 9 - 12 with dismissal at 11:45


Grade 8 students - 12:00 - 3:00 - meet in the Gymnasium (there will be bus transportation for grade 8 bus students)

We are able to share some of their marvelous work with you through an on-line slide show. Code of Conduct

 

Barsby is a PBIS (Positive Behaviour Intervention Support) school and we promote positive behaviour through modelling and clearly defined expectations. NLPS Threat Assessment Protocol
 
Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools (NLPS) are committed to a safe and supportive environment for all – students, parents and staff. We take all threatening comments and behaviours seriously. Parents and students should be aware of the district’s threat /violence risk assessment protocol. Threat assessment is the process that is followed when a school becomes aware of a threat made against a student, staff member or the safety of the school building and its occupants. Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools will follow up on every reported threat.
