    Friday, May 13th is a Professional Learning day and Monday, May 16th is a Curriculum Implementation Day for Barsby staff. There will be no classes for students on these days.

  • Report Cards issued today.

    Report cards will be distributed to students during the lunch break on Friday April 29th in the main foyer. Please review the report with your child and if you have questions please contact the teacher directly. Our school number is 250 753 8211.

Graduation Transitions
A reminder to those grade 12’s that have not completed their GTS. This course is mandatory to graduate… at this time you are putting your graduation into jeopardy… Please see Mrs. Marshall this week to make arrangements for completion….
Grade 12’s.  This is a reminder that applications close next week for the 2016 BC Technology Scholarship.  Check out our school website for more details. 
Aboriginal Students currently in Gr 8 to 11
Want to live on the UBC campus for a week this summer and attend some awesome sightseeing and scientific educational events—then see Ab Ed for information and help in applying. Check the notice boards on the foyer mezz floor.
ATTENTION MATH CONTEST PARTICIPANTS...  please hand in your permission forms to Ms. Ryynanen in room 234 or to the office as soon as possible. If you do not intend to go please let Ms. Ryynanen know today - many other students would like to attend in your place!
Talent Show
There is a talent show meeting on Tuesday May 3rd in the dance studio at lunch.  If you are performing or helping out with the show you must attend.
Grads planning to attend VIU
A reminder that Shawn O’Toole will be at the school on Tuesday May 3rd at 2:00 to help you pre build your timetable for the Fall/Spring terms.  Please ensure that you have accepted your offer of Admission that is located on your student record.  Please call him if you have any questions.

Need help with your homework/classwork?  Barsby Study Hall is after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays in room 234 from 3:45 - 5:00.

Code of Conduct


Barsby is a PBIS (Positive Behaviour Intervention Support) school and we promote positive behaviour through modelling and clearly defined expectations. NLPS Threat Assessment Protocol
Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools (NLPS) are committed to a safe and supportive environment for all – students, parents and staff. We take all threatening comments and behaviours seriously. Parents and students should be aware of the district’s threat /violence risk assessment protocol. Threat assessment is the process that is followed when a school becomes aware of a threat made against a student, staff member or the safety of the school building and its occupants. Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools will follow up on every reported threat.
